The near $9 billion project would have created thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of permanent jobs. 

Some residents urged county officials to do more research, while others called on officials to reject data centers altogether.

The board’s meeting has been rescheduled for May 26 at the Pillars Event Center in Taylorville.
