After hours of debate and heated public comment, Sangamon County Board members voted 17 to 10 to approve land for the CyrusOne data center on April 7.
CyrusOne will still need to submit a formal proposal; Tuesday’s vote only approved the land to be used for the project.
The bill also includes plans to finance an expansion of the Bank of Springfield (BOS) Center, which includes a new hotel.
