(WAND) - Coleman Hawkins is reportedly withdrawing from the NBA Draft and will transfer to a new program.

The news was first reported by Shams Charania of the Athletic.

The former Illini is expected to be one of the highest paid NIL players in college hoops.

When WAND News spoke to Hawkins at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago earlier this month, he seemed pretty set on going pro.

"I just feel like I've outgrown college basketball." said Hawkins at the time. "I'm just ready to give my life to basketball."

Hawkins showed out during the NBA Combine scrimmages. He was named the Player of the Game after a May 15 scrimmage where he recorded 17 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Hawkins averaged 12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks while shooting 36.9% from 3-point range in his senior season at Illinois.
