DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Players for the newly formed Decatur Bean Ballers have officially reported for Prospect League duty. The team is eager to start their first season on Tuesday at Workman Family Baseball Field.

Members of the team are hopeful the organization will provide a fun opportunity for families in the Macon County area to come together and have fun during the summer months.

Making an impact early in the season is important to all members of the ball club, both with their on-field competitiveness as well as the atmosphere surrounding games.

"I think it's going to be a really good environment not only for the people, but also for the family to be over, and watch their games," says Head Coach Gabe Arroyo."

General Manager Jacob Watkins also shared his optimism and excitement as the team prepares to return fan-friendly baseball back to the "soy city".

"We'd love to pack it out and see everybody at the ballpark," he says. "Just looking forward to an awesome season."
