DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Bean Ballers are just days away from the start of their inaugural season.
The Bean Ballers, comprised entirely of college athletes, will kick off its inaugural season on Tuesday at Millikin University's Workman Family Baseball Field.
General Manager Jacob Watkins said they hope to bring a new source of family fun to the city.
"We have the Devon, we have Splash Cove, we're just another option where families can come together. Maybe a cheaper option, get a hot dog. We have a lot of kids' activities as well and just enjoying a night at the ballpark."
All home games will be played at Millikin University's Workman Family Baseball Field.
Additionally, the Bean Ballers will play 56 games, split evenly between 28 home games and 28 away games.
