Date set for Illinois Final Four rematch against UConn

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — A date has been set for one of the Illinois Men's Basketball team's biggest non-conference tests of the 2026-27 season.

The Illini will get a rematch against the UConn Huskies at the United Center in Chicago on Friday, December 4.

Illinois and UConn will play for the fourth time in four seasons, and seventh time overall. The programs met twice last season, including in the Final Four. UConn won both matchups, including a 71-62 win to head to the National Championship game.

This game is just another addition to an already tough non-conference schedule for the Orange and Blue. Illinois will play road games at Duke and Texas Tech, take on North Carolina at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and continues the McBride Homes Braggin' Rights series against Missouri at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

The Illini are returning five rotation players while adding a top-15 recruiting class. The team will look to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament, coming off a Final Four appearance.
