CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The Illini Women's Basketball team has added Iowa transfer Aaliyah Guyton to their team announced head coach Shauna Green.

Guyton, a sophomore guard, is from Peoria, IL. She played for Peoria High School, and was ranked as the number one player in the state going into college.

Guyton played in 29 games for the Hawkeyes last season, including one start, and averaged 4.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

"I am absolutely thrilled to have Aaliyah join our family," said Green. "She can score at all three levels, and she is an elite defender, which is critical in our system."

The 5'7" guard is set to join the Illini for the 2025-26 season as they try for a second straight NCAA tournament appearance.
