WARRENSBURG, Ill. (WAND) - Two of the top seeds in the Macon County girls' basketball tournament will go head-to-head Saturdaynight in the championship round.

Maroa-Forsyth, the tournament's #1 seed, topped the hosts in Warrensburg-Latham in the semifinal 59-43. Despite the Trojans' leading scorer, Avery Braden, briefly going down, the team rallied to move the team on to the next round. In doing so, head coach Selina Finck earned her 300th career victory with the program. Finck has spent her entire 21-year coaching career with the Trojans.

"I actually kept it to myself and maybe to my daughters," Finck said after the game. "It's awesome. You wouldn't get it unless you have the girls who work hard and that's who I attribute it to. We wouldn't be in this spot if it wasn't for the kids we have in our program."

The other semifinal pitted the #2 seed, Meridian, against 3rd seeded St. Teresa. A highly defensive game from the start, less than 10-points were scored between the squads at the end of the first quarter. As the floor opened up, the Bulldogs made the most of their opportunities, edging out the Hawks 44-24.

Saturday will mark the final day of the Macon County tournament, with three matches scheduled throughout the evening.

Consolation Championship (5pm): #5 Argenta-Oreana vs. #7 Cerro Gordo-Bement

Third Place game (6:30pm): #2 Meridian vs. #4 Warrensburg-Latham
