DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The man killed in a rollover crash in Decatur has been identified.

The Decatur Police Department said that the crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Water Street and East Mound Road, near Target and Olive Garden.

DPD said a driver, identified by the Macon County Coroner as 72-year-old Gay Rolofson of Decatur, was turning left onto East Mound Road from North Water Street with a green arrow.

A 32-year-old Decatur man driving north on North Water Street ran a red light and slammed into Rolofson in the intersection, police said.

Rolofson was pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old man was being treated for life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.

No other passengers were in either vehicle. First responders blocked off the intersection for over six hours.

Decatur police said there is no indication that either driver was drunk.
