Mt. Pulaski advances to 1A State Finals with OT thriller

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WAND) -- Mt. Pulaski girls basketball team is one win away from a state championship. 

The Hilltoppers faced Brown County in the 1A State Semifinals Thursday morning. 

They would lead by five at halftime and seven points after three quarters. 

In the final minute they found themselves behind and thanks to senior Alyson Murphy would sink a three to force overtime. 

Mt. Pulaski would defeat Brown County 47-40 in an overtime thriller to advance to the State Championship Saturday morning.

The Hilltoppers will face Deer Creek-Mackinaw, tip off is at 10 a.m. at CEFCU Arena.
