DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Thursday! It will be a gloomy Thursday with mostly cloudy to overcast skies. Rain chances will be in the area, but dry air above Central Illinois will prevent much, if any, rain from actually reaching the surface. At worst, you might have a few light sprinkles through the afternoon. Temperatures will warm up into the upper 40s, so it will be very comparable to our temperatures from Wednesday.
Rain and clouds will start to clear overnight into early Friday morning. Friday is looking gorgeous with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures back in the mid-50s. Clouds will return overnight into early Saturday. Cloudy skies will hang around as a system moves in from the south.
The latest models are pushing this system further northward. Most of the day Saturday will be dry, but rain chances will increase through the evening and linger into early Sunday morning. The bulk of the rain will be from I-72 southward through the I-70 corridor. Rain chances look slim next week as temperatures soar into the 60s by next Tuesday.
