DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Thursday! Conditions will be gorgeous today as sunny skies take over all day long. High temperatures will push into the low 70s by the afternoon with very light winds through the evening. Temperatures will drop into the low 50s overnight as clouds start to build back into the region.
Rain and storm chances will move in late tonight and linger through the Friday morning drive. Steady showers and some strong storms are expected with this system. The severe weather risk is mainly further west of the area, but the I-55 corridor could see a few storms hit severe weather limits overnight.
Showers will clear out by late Friday morning. Partly cloudy skies will hang around behind the rain. Temperatures will be much warmer in the upper 70s by Friday afternoon. Humid conditions will persist through the weekend as storms move in on Saturday.
High temperatures will stay well above average in the upper 80s through the first half of next week. Cooler temperatures will return by the end of next week.
