DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Friday! We have a gorgeous day ahead on tap, but we have to get through a chilly morning. Temperatures will go from the 20s and 30s up into the 50s by the afternoon. Sunny skies will persist through the evening with mild winds, so you should be able to get outside without any issues this afternoon.
Clouds will increase overnight tonight as temperatures drop into the low 30s. Overcast skies will persist all day on Saturday. Temperatures will be slower to warm up with the cloudy skies, and highs will top off in the upper 40s and low 50s.Â
Some beneficial rain is slated to hit parts of Central Illinois by Saturday evening. The I-70 corridor should see the heaviest showers. There will be a sharp cut-off in the rain, with areas north of the I-72 corridor not expected to see rain. A general tenth of an inch to a quarter inch of rain is expected for areas along I-72.
Showers will exit through the overnight hours and early Sunday morning. Skies will clear early Sunday morning. This will lead to a comfortable warming trend for the afternoon. The warm temperatures will hang around through the middle of next week.
