DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Summer heat and humidity will intensify across Central Illinois this week.
After a weekend of heavy, flooding rain and some severe storms, the last of the showers and storms depart by midday Monday. It'll be very warm and humid with highs well into the 80s.
Sunshine returns tomorrow through Thursday, along with 90° highs Tuesday and low-to-mid-90s Wednesday and Thursday. Once you add in the high humidity, it'll feel like 100°-110° (maybe 115°)!
An "Extreme Heat Watch" goes into effect for some of us Tuesday afternoon and for others on Wednesday. This will last into Thursday evening, at least.
A few showers and storms are possible Wednesday and Thursday afternoon with chances going up Friday and for the weekend.
