DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The weather Sunday will look and feel a lot like the weather did Saturday.
High temperatures Sunday will rise again into the mid-90s with lots of sunshine and a noticeable breeze from the southwest making the air feel hotter.
When you consider the humidity, the air will feel as hot as 105° during the hottest part of the day. That is why the National Weather Service has placed our area under a Heat Advisory Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.Â
Monday will be marginally hotter with temperatures rising another 1°-2° and the feels-like temperature rising to 105°-110°. Tuesday will feel much like Saturday and Sunday. Heat is the top weather-related killer, so please take these alerts and forecasts seriously, particularly if you will be outside for longer stretches of time or are especially susceptible to the heat. Children, the elderly, people dealing with chronic health conditions, and pregnant women fall into that category.Â
To help protect yourself during this heat stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade, and wear sunscreen and light, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing. Thanks to our partners at the National Weather Service for sharing these graphics with us.Â
This stretch of heat does not end Tuesday when the Heat Advisory ends. High temperatures will remain in the 90s through next week, so please take these precautions seriously and listen to your body. Our team of meteorologists will let you know if additional heat alerts are issued through this stretch of hot weather, so keep checking in for updates.
