DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - As the weekend winds down, the focus now becomes what Mother Nature decides to bring during the work week.
It's been nice to enjoy a weekend with the windows open and little concern towards heat, however, that time is slowly coming to an end.
While below average temperatures will stick around through Tuesday, you'll notice a few isolated thunderstorm chances developing both Monday and Tuesday.
This is the start of moisture returning to Central Illinois.
Temperatures will continue to climb back into the upper 80's by midweek with near 90° temperatures expected across Illinois by Thursday.
Unfortunately, the return of heat and humidity looks to be for an extended period, once again.
