DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A lot of puddles greeted the Wednesday sunrise. Since Tuesday afternoon, there have been areas that received over two inches of rain. More is on the way.Â
The cold front that triggered the heavy bouts of rain and thunderstorms stalled near the Ohio River Wednesday. Said front is already in the process of returning northward as a warm front. It will be fueled by Gulf Coast humidity, leading to additional heavy showers and thunderstorms. The difference this time is severe weather; all modes are possible. Â
The coverage area of showers and thunderstorms will be much smaller tonight compared to last night. However, the risk of severe weather will be greatest Thursday afternoon and evening. Â
Keep your head up, stay safe and stay weather-aware.Â
