DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Wednesday! Some light snow has fallen overnight across Central Illinois. This shouldn’t be a major impact for the morning drive, as roads have stayed mostly clear. Temperatures will warm up above freezing through the morning, and much warmer air takes over for the afternoon. Highs will peak in the 50s today with plenty of sunshine.
Clouds will return overnight as a slight chance of showers moves into the region. This will be very light, with little accumulation expected. Temperatures will stay above freezing, so any precipitation that falls will fall as rain. Sunny skies return by the middle of the day, and temperatures will again soar even warmer into the 60s.
The end of the week into the weekend looks phenomenal. Temperatures will rise into the 70s with mostly sunny skies on Friday. Spring officially starts on Saturday morning. Temperatures will stay in the 70s through Sunday. A cold front will move through on Sunday afternoon, and this will cool temperatures down for next week.
