One last mild day ahead of a major temperature drop

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Tuesday! We have one mild day ahead before a massive drop off in temperatures. We will see mostly cloudy skies through the afternoon as temperatures climb into the 50s. A cold front will drop in overnight and bring scattered shower chances with much colder temperatures. A few light flurries are also possible through early Wednesday morning, but very little accumulation is expected.

Temperatures will drop throughout the day on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and very windy conditions through the afternoon. Gusts of 35 mph are possible before calmer conditions return for the evening.

Cold air will hang around behind this front, with below-average highs in the 20s expected for Thursday. There will be a slight bump in temperatures for Friday, but another front will arrive and bring in much colder air behind it. Some light flurries are possible Friday night. It will be very cold this weekend with Wind chills below 0 expected overnight Saturday and Sunday.
