DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A Danville woman who was arrested for showing a gun during a road rage incident has been sentenced to probation. Â
The Danville Police Department officers were dispatched at 8:42 a.m. on August 21 to Danville Area Community College for a report of a road rage incident where a gun was shown.Â
Officers learned that the incident began near the intersection of E. Main Street and Indiana Street, where the victims said they were followed by the suspect, later identified as Shoshanna Boens of Danville, to the intersection of Baumgart St. and Home Street.
Once there, the suspects shared that Boens had made threatening statements directed at them while holding a gun.Â
A search warrant was performed on Boens' car, where a gun was found.Â
Boens was initially arrested on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.Â
In court, Boens was sentenced to 24 months of first offender weapons probation after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Two other counts were dismissed as part of the plea deal.Â
