DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Sunday! High pressure returns after an unsettled first week of March. It brings a pleasant, sunny, & breezy forecast to central Illinois.

Temperatures will warm to the low 60s this afternoon under the sun. Winds may gust up to 25 mph as high pressure moves in. As clear skies stick around late tonight, lows will dip back into the mid 40s.

Tomorrow, sunshine continues, and we warm up even more- into the low 70s. A shift to strong SW flow beginning tonight will aid in the warmer trend, and it lasts through Tuesday afternoon. However, by Tuesday night, strong thunderstorms and steady rain arrive. Chances for severe weather from damaging winds to hail are increasing, meaning you’ll want to remain weather aware as we head through the start of the work week.
