DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - We’re heading into Valentine’s weekend with quiet conditions before the rain arrives.Â
Under clear skies, we’ll dip into the 30s overnight, but skies will be overcast by the morning ahead of our next weathermaker.
Rain arrives by mid-afternoon, spreading from southwest to east. Models are showing the area of low pressure clipping areas as far north as the Bloomington to Danville line with light rain. However, heavier rain can be anticipated as you head farther south. We could see anywhere from a tenth of an inch on the low end (for areas that see any rain at all) to up to ¾ of an inch. Pockets of heavy rain may leave us with higher rainfall totals along and south of I-70.Â
Even with the rain, we’ll be mild with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. By Sunday, showers will taper off early in the morning, and sunshine will take its place by mid-afternoon. Even warmer air rolls in for the work week as deep southerly flow sets up through Wednesday.Â
