A cold front dropping through central Illinois will bring cooler weather today and tomorrow compared to Wednesday's highs in the 70s to near 80°.
A few showers are possible this morning with a better chance of showers and a few rumbles of thunderstorms this afternoon. That'll mostly be from Interstate 72 southward.
Skies clear out overnight as lows drop into the 40s. Sunshine returns tomorrow with highs around 70° and lows again in the 40s.
Mother's Day weekend is expected to be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the 70s Saturday and around 80° Sunday.
Rain chances return early next week.
