DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Tuesday! It’s another warm morning with temperatures starting in the 60s. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low 80s. Storm chances move in for the afternoon and evening. A marginal risk for severe weather is in place for areas along I-72 and north. The main concern is severe wind gusts; however, small hail and areas of ponding under heavy thunderstorms shouldn’t be ruled out.
Storms will persist through the overnight hours as temperatures cool off into the 40s. Showers and some scattered storms will hang around off and on through Wednesday afternoon and evening. Winds will pick up out of the south and drive in warmer temperatures in the 70s for the back half of the week.
Rain chances return Thursday afternoon and evening. Expect showers to be off and on through Saturday. A cold front will slide southward across the Midwest and bring cooler temperatures for Easter Sunday. Temperatures will be slightly below average in the 50s for the start of next week.
