Sunshine on the horizon

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Saturday! We start the day with steady, heavy rainfall as a cold front sweeps central Illinois.

Rain will taper off throughout the midmorning, and by midday, we’ll be back to mainly dry conditions under cloudy skies. We’ll hang onto clouds and gusty winds throughout the afternoon, and temperatures will gradually dip as we switch to west/northwest flow. Our high in the low 60s today was hit overnight, and the rest of the afternoon will be spent with temperatures dipping into the 50s.

By tonight, clouds will gradually clear out, and temperatures will dip into the low 30s overnight. However, sunshine under high pressure will bring us back into the low 60s by tomorrow afternoon.

Even warmer conditions can be expected for the start of the work week, but this warm-up is ahead of another chance for showers and storms on Tuesday night.
