FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) — A new dog park will be built on the northeast side of Forsyth, the village announced Thursday.
The new "Forsyth Barks n Rec Dog Park" will be designed to provide a fun and safe place for residents and their pets to run, play and socialize.
The park will feature a large dog park, which will be about 17,500 square feet of open space for dogs to run and play, and a small dog area, which will be about 2,500 square feet designed specifically for smaller dogs.
There will be dog playground equipment, seating areas for owners, and a water station for dogs.
The dog park will be built in a space on East Cox Street, just west of the public works department.
The village said it will not have a clear timeline for construction until bids are received for the parking lot. According to the village, once that process is complete, scheduling will depend on coordination with the contractor, the fence installation, and delivery timelines.
