DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - It may seem like a long time ago, but it was the second week of January when thermometers across the state read 50+ degrees. Since then, we've had a couple minor dustings of snow and one big plowable storm. That snow is still visible to this date. Frigid weather took hold as well with at least 10 days in-a-row with sub-freezing temperatures. Heck, it was even below zero for a few nights.

Fast forward to February. Despite what the groundhog says, the weather works in cycles. Sure, we'll have a couple cold nights before next week, but a warm cycle is headed our way. Just look at the 20/30 degree weather sprawling from the west coast of Canada into the Plains. The true frigid air is locked off to the north. It's still a long way to go to Spring, but at least that January snow will be melting faster.
