It is another day of constant rainfall and flooding concerns across Central Illinois.
The current setup of this system falls in line with what is known as a Rex block.Â
The key feature to a Rex block is a vertically stacked area of high pressure to the north with an area of low pressure to the south, as shown above.
In the case of our current setup, the area of Low Pressure has very little west to east movement and therefore continues to sit and dump rain across our hometowns.
Heaviest rainfall over the past 24 hours looks to be in and around Coles County with flooding concerns continuing to increase.
