DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -Â Bruno the corn snake from the Scovill Zoo visited the WAND news studio on April 15.
Bruno uses his tongue to smell and sense his surroundings. He is a constrictor which means he constricts his food before eating it.Â
Corn snakes get their name from their underbelly scales resembling corn kernels. They are important to the ecosystem for controlling the rodent population that can spread disease and destroy crops.Â
The Scovill Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
