CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A celebration of life will be held Saturday in honor of a Champaign bar manager who was killed in a shooting in February.

The celebration of life will take place for Brandon Hardway, 45, at 2 p.m. at The Venue CU in Champaign, the News Gazette reports.

Hardway was shot outside The Pour Bros. Craft Taproom on Feb. 8. He later died from his injuries.

The Venue CU will be closed on Saturday until 4 p.m. so staff can attend the event.

“Wear a Yankees jersey, favorite baseball hat, sneakers, Pour Bros gear or anything that reminds you of him,” Hardway's wife wrote in a Facebook post.

Fidele G. Tshimanga, 24, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 8 following the shooting. Hardway was outside of the business when he was allegedly approached by Tshimanga who then produced a gun and fired before running away.

Tshimanga was arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder. He pleaded not guilty.
