CLINTON, Ill. (WAND) - The Apple and Pork Festival returned to Clinton this past weekend and brought in thousands of visitors.

The event originally started as a fundraiser for the historic C.H. Moore Homestead.

It then grew every year from there.

Board President for C.H. Moore Homestead Chet Walters said, "When it's cooler temperatures like this, then what we've had in the past four or five years, food sales are better during the festival. So, that's a plus for us. That helps us to provide funds to keep the museum going, pay the bills, work on the house, work on the buildings and everything, and keep this going for years to come."

This was the 56th year for the festival.
