DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A fire skink from the Scovill Zoo visited the WAND news studio on Wednesday, August 6.

The skink's name is Blaze. You probably have not seen him at the zoo, because he is not an exhibit animal. Fire skinks are shy and spend a lot of time buried. The zoo also described him as being "a little spicy," so he is not used for the mobile zoo program either. 

The Scovill Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
