URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — A blues festival is bringing live music to downtown Urbana in August.
The Prairie Crossroads Blues Society of Champaign-Urbana announced its 8th Annual Blues Fest will be at Bunny's Tavern in downtown Urbana on August 7-8.
The festival is free and will feature Alligator Records Recording Artist Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials, as well as several local bands.
The event kicks off on Friday at 6 p.m. with the Painkillers Blues Band, and finishes with Candy Foster and the Shades of Blue.
Saturday will start at 4 p.m. with a performance from the Bubble City Playboys. Andrew Duncanson and Take a Ride, with special guests Garry Hundt and Lee Kanehira will follow at 6 p.m., and headliner Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials will play from 8:30-10 p.m.
The Blues Society will be giving away a Black Fender Sonic Strat guitar, gig bag and guitar stand on Saturday night. There will also be several raffle prize drawings, and t-shirts and hats for sale throughout the festival.
