SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - BF Home Care Inc., dba Home Instead, is donating $40,000 to Senior Services of Central Illinois.
The donation will be directed toward several key initiatives aimed at improving the lives of seniors in the region.
Last year's gift was $30,000, which was used to help purchase a new transport bus to assist seniors with mobility needs.
This year, the donation will fund three community programs:
1. Bed Bug Alleviation – The donation will help address the social isolation and health risks caused by bed bug infestations, which can have a profound impact on seniors living independently in their homes. This initiative will help alleviate the physical and emotional burden on affected seniors.
2. Transportation Van Repairs – Many seniors depend on transportation services for medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social activities. With this funding, essential repairs to transportation vans will ensure that seniors continue to have reliable access to these critical services.
3. Nutrition Program Enhancement – With a focus on senior health and well-being, the funds will also bolster the nutrition program at Senior Services’ facilities in Springfield as well as Chatham, Greenview, Petersburg, Auburn, Tallula and Athens. This enhancement will provide seniors with more nutritious meals, helping them stay healthy and engaged in their communities.
"Award recognition is meaningful, but it’s the impact of the donation that truly matters," said Amy Best, co-owner of BF Home Care Inc., dba Home Instead. "By contributing $40,000 this year, we can directly support programs that improve seniors' quality of life, providing them with the services they need to live independently and with dignity. We're thrilled to see these funds make a real difference in our local communities."
"Senior Services of Central Illinois is so thankful for the generosity of Home Instead. We were so excited to hear that Home Instead was recognized again through the Founders III Award from Honor, Inc. and we were even more excited when we received the call that Home Instead was going to again share this great award with SSCI. It is with great partnerships and gifts like this that we are able to provide nutrition, transportation, activities and programs, casework, and so much more to seniors within our community.”, said Carol Harms, Executive Director for Senior Services of Central Illinois.
BF Home Care Inc., dba Home Instead, owned by Amy Best and Rob First, is a leading provider of senior care services.
