DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A man is dead after an early morning shooting in east Decatur Sunday.

The Decatur Police Department said officers responded just after 4 a.m. near the intersection of East Wood Street and South Maffit Street for reports of someone being shot.

That is near the Krekel's on Wood Street. 

DPD said officers found a 46-year-old man that had been shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police are still searching for the shooter, and the investigation is ongoing.
