Expo offers resources for people with disabilities

The 16th annual Disability Resource Expo returns to Champaign-Urbana this weekend. 

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Disability Resource Expo is returning to Champaign-Urbana to empower everyone in the community to thrive despite obstacles in their way. 

The 16th annual expo will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Market Place Mall in Champaign. 

Over 60 exhibitors are expected to provide attendees with resources on educational opportunities, financial guidance, legal support and more. 

The expo will offer complimentary wheelchair and walker rentals, ASL and Spanish interpreters and a Personal Care Assistance provider, according to a press release. 

There will also be a shuttle service provided by Disability Resources and Education Services from the University of Illinois that will run every half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. along the intersection of Neil and Center to the JCPenney entrance at the mall.

  • 11 a.m. - JCPenney to Neil & Center
  • 11:30 a.m. - Neil & Center to JCPenney
  • Noon - JCPenney to Neil & Center
  • 12:30 p.m. - Neil & Center to JCPenney
  • 1 p.m. - JCPenney to Neil/Center
  • 1:30 p.m. - Neil & Center to JCPenney
  • 2 p.m. - JCPenney to Neil & Center
  • 2:30 p.m. - Neil & Center to JCPenney
  • 3 p.m. - JCPenney to Neil & Center
