WARRENSBURG, Ill. (WAND) — In the winter, it can be difficult for small businesses that rely on farmers' markets. But at vendor markets like The Perfect Pair, you can still have a place to come and get fresh local food in the offseason.

Ary Callarman, co-owner of The Perfect Pair, explained that small businesses can suffer during the winter.

"The offseason is hard for them, especially when the farmer's markets are their main source of income," Callarman said.

However, The Perfect Pair provides a consistent option to sell their products, which matters even more in the offseason.

Katie Sellmeyer, owner of ES Meats, said that even though their business thrives off the lull during the winter months, businesses like theirs still rely on sales.

"Everybody knows 'local' as the farmer's market, for the most part. However, you want to continue it through the year," Sellmeyer said.

The Perfect Pair is home to 100 small businesses, most of them local and Illinois-based. Many of these businesses make up the grocery inside the storefront. From fresh to shelf-stable, The Perfect Pair has nearly every ingredient you may need on your grocery list.

"You can come in here and basically make a meal if you have nothing, and you can even pick up pizza if you have no other options to go," Sellmeyer said.

The Perfect Pair will be hosting its Small Business Saturday Redo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 13, and its Last-Minute Shopping Vendor Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 20.
