DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -Â Kick off Mardi Gras festivities during a special exhibit opening reception.Â
The reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in the Madden Arts Center at 125 North Water Street in Decatur.
The Decatur Area Arts Council said the exhibit will feature art from Decatur native Natalie Jackson and others.Â
It will also feature live music, a presentation about the history of Mardi Gras and New Orleans-style food.
The Children's Museum of Illinois will also be in attendance to raffle tickets to their Mardi Gras fundraiser and preview artwork that will be for sale during the event. Â
This event is free to the public.Â
