SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A ribbon cutting and open house will be held for the new Owen Marsh Elementary School in Springfield. 

The school is located at 1100 Avon Drive. 

The ribbon cutting will be held between 9:05 and 9:10 a.m. on Friday, May 22. The open house will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. 

People are told to park on Parkview Dr. or on any surrounding neighborhood streets. 

Following the ribbon cutting, guests can view classroom spaces in the new school. 

On May 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. people can visit the current Owen Marsh Elementary School before its demolition following the end of the current school year.
