MAROA, Ill. (WAND) - A Maroa man who was arrested on child pornography charges in January 2025 was sentenced to 24 months of probation. 

Court records showed Corey Giese was sentenced to 180 days in the Macon County Jail, with credit for one day previously served. 

However, his jail sentence will be erased if he completes probation without any violations. 

Giese must also register as a sex offender for life. 

Two witnesses told Maroa police that child sexual abuse material was found on Giese's phone, along with screenshots of his social media accounts.

According to a sworn statement, Giese came to the Maroa Police Department for questioning and was arrested on three counts of child porn possession with victims under 13.
