ROCHESTER, Ill. (WAND) - The Rochester CUSD 3A School Board announced the appointment of a new interim superintendent Wednesday.Â
Rolf Sivertsen was appointed interim superintendent effective July 1. Sivertsen will serve in the role for the 2025-2026 school year.Â
Sivertsen has 35 years of educational experience, with 25 of those being in educational leadership. He recently served as interim superintendent at Williamsfield CUSD 210.Â
"We believe that Mr. Sivertsen's experience and leadership will provide the stability and environment our district needs at this time. He has a strong record of collaboration, mentorship, and education enthusiasm," said Amy Reynolds, President of the Rochester CUSD 3A School Board. "The Board is committed to fostering a smooth transition, ensuring support for staff, communicating timely, and providing an excellent education for every student."Â
Sivertsen said, "I am both excited and honored to have the opportunity to become a part of the Rochester learning community."Â
The search for a permanent superintendent for the 2026-2027 school year will start soon. The Board plans to name the new permanent superintendent by the end of December 2025.Â
