SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Springfield Fire Department is celebrating the retirements of two captains.
Captain Gary Ball and Captain Curt Moffitt have served with the department since September of 1999, according to a post made by SFD.
"Over the past 24 years, Captain Ball and Captain Moffitt have been integral members of our team, protecting lives, mentoring others, and embodying the very best of what it means to serve. Their commitment to the safety and well-being of our community will leave a lasting legacy," read the post.
