DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - History comes to life this weekend at the annual Candlelight Tour at Homestead Prairie Farm, located within the Rock Springs Conservation Area.

The event takes place on Saturday, November 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., inviting visitors to experience what life was like in 1860s rural Illinois.

Guests will be guided through the historic farm by interpreters dressed in period clothing, offering a glimpse into everyday life more than 150 years ago.

After the tour, guests can warm up with hot apple cider and cookies, provided free of charge.

The event is free and open to all ages, with no registration required. Organizers encourage families and history enthusiasts to stop by and enjoy the candlelit charm of this living history site.
