SAVOY, Ill. (WAND) — Visually impaired baseball players came together in Savoy Saturday to compete in an annual beep baseball tournament.

The tournament has been running for five years, drawing athletes from across the Midwest to Savoy to compete.

The event serves as a warmup for teams ahead of their World Series.

Director of Event Services Mark Brown explained how the game works.

"So, they're basically playing an adapted version of baseball where the ball beeps and the bases beep so that they're able to play the game," said Brown.
