DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A 41-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot, as Illinois State Police took over the scene of a man barricaded inside a Decatur home Friday.
According to Lieutenant Scott Flannery with the Macon County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a home in the 600 block of South Wyckles Road shortly after 12 p.m.
Police said a suspect barricaded himself inside a home after shooting a man. The victim was shot in the lower back and is currently stable after undergoing surgery.
Just after 1 p.m., Lieutenant Flannery told WAND News that officers had negotiated with the suspect inside the home.Â
A WAND News reporter on scene Friday evening said that ISP had taken over the scene as the standoff neared the 12-hour mark around 10:45 p.m.Â
