CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — An Urbana 16-year-old is in the hospital in serious, but stable condition according to the Champaign Police Department.

The teenage boy was found by Champaign officers around 10:23 Monday night in the 300 Block of E. Bradley Avenue. He had been shot multiple times in the torso. Officers and the Champaign Fire Department gave medical aid to the teen until he could be taken to the hospital.

The initial CPD investigation shows that the victim was walking along Bradley Avenue when he was shot. Police are working to determine the cause of the gunfire and any information related to those responsible for it. Officers are canvassing the area and asking for video footage that may provide more information.

No arrests have been made so far.
