Drug arrests in Taylorville

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Two people were arrested on drug charges in Taylorville. 

The Taylorville Police Department's Community Action Team and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of West Market Street.

Police arrested Rebecca Champley, 49, and Lorna Smith, 43. 
 
Champley was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver (15-100 grams), Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, and Criminal Fortification of a Residence. Additional charges are anticipated.
 
Smith was arrested on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.
 
"We would like to extend our gratitude to the State’s Attorney and the Judge for their invaluable assistance during this operation. This success is a direct result of great teamwork," Taylorville Police Chief Wheeler said.
