SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A 69-year-old Roodhouse woman is dead after a motor vehicle accident in Springfield Thursday afternoon. 

The Sangamon County Coroner said the crash happened near the intersection of S. 7th Street and East Laurel.

The woman was pronounced dead just before 3 p.m., shortly after arriving at the hospital. 

According to the coroner's office, her name won't be released until the family is notified. 

The investigation is ongoing.
