DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Checkered Door, a new home decor store, has opened its doors in Downtown Decatur.
It has taken the place of the former Murphy and Company store.
The owners say it's a great place to get things like faux flowers, wedding gifts and shelf pieces.
Co-owner Diana Freeman said every piece of decor for the store was intentionally chosen to get the best look.
"We spent a lot of time picking out each and every piece, and all of our decor for the store. We had things in mind, we had a vision, and we went for it," Freeman said.
