DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur police arrested a teen following an armed robbery Tuesday evening.Â
The Decatur Police Department told WAND News that officers talked to two people who said they were robbed at gunpoint while walking along E. Wood Street.Â
Police said they spotted one of the suspects matching the victim's description near MLK Jr. Drive and E. Lawrence Street. The suspect then ran off, but was later caught and taken into custody.Â
A K-9 at the scene uncovered a firearm that was found nearby.Â
DPD added that the suspect was identified as the person who pointed a firearm and robbed the victim.Â
Police said that the 15-year-old suspect was charged with armed robbery and is being held at a juvenile detention center.Â
